Wings for Autism(TM) is a free program specifically designed to support families of children with autism, creating a travel test run to help ease the stress of airline travel. By getting comfortable with the airport and flight experience (without actually leaving the airport) parents and their children with special needs can gain the familiarity and confidence they need to take future trips.

During this free, half-day event, children and their families are able to familiarize themselves with the airport and travel procedures.

- Entering the airport
- The check-in process and checking bags
- Security screening
- Boarding the plane
- Preparing for take-off
- Exiting the plane
Practicing these steps helps establish a travel routine—so important for many children with autism who rely on repetition and structure.
Boston Children’s Museum-Morning Star Access Program

The Morning star Access program offers children with special needs/medical needs the opportunity to visit the Museum at a time when there are only a few other visitors. Children and their families can explore the Museum with less concern about infections and large crowds. Preregistration is required!

Come join in all the fun and explore the accessible Discovery Museum and Discovery Woods during this free evening event especially for families with children with disabilities. Your family can play, explore, experiment, and imagine together while we are closed to the general public. Any family who can benefit from a limited capacity visit is welcome at this event; a medical diagnosis is not required. ASL interpretation may be available upon request. Dinner, including a gluten-free option, will be provided. Advance registration is required.
USS Constitution Museum

Join us on the 2nd Sunday of the month from October to May 9am-10am, for sensory-friendly mornings at the USS Constitution Museum! Learn about the incredible history of America’s Ship of State in a quieter setting, without loud sounds or flashing lights, and before we open to the public at 10:00 AM. Design a ship, furl a sail, and scrub the decks in our hands-on exhibits that are designed for sailors of all abilities and backgrounds.

Boston Pops Sensory-Friendly Performances

Sensory-friendly concerts are designed for people of any age with an autism spectrum disorder or sensory sensitivity and their families. Relaxed house rules allow for more audience movement and foster a judgment-free environment. BSO staff and musicians learn about the needs of audience members with an autism spectrum disorder or sensory sensitivity from credentialed experts who are also on hand to support audience members and their families.
